There are many different ways of teaching a second language, and they all work in different ways with different levels of efficiency in different situations. The first way is immersion, where a person just has to live their life or go to school entirely or almost entirely in the language they want to learn. Another way is going to school in a person’s native language, but having a class teach them the new language.

In any situation, the learner’s motivation is going to be one of the deciding factors as to how well and quickly they learn the new language. Some other factors are the teaching style, the relationship between the learner and the teacher, how good the student is at languages, and many others.
